About
Us
Here at Cottons Etc. the one motto we live by is "You Can Never Have Too Much Fabric!"
Our 1700 square foot quilt/fabric shop is packed to the ceiling and no nook
or cranny sits vacant. Fashion and quilting fabrics in a wonderful array
of prints, colors, and fibers assail your senses.
|
As a garment maker, I love wearable art. My fabric choices reflect my taste for bright,
eclectic prints and colors. When I pick fabric I love the challenge of making prints
from different manufacturers work together. We are especially fond of Alexander
Henry, Kaffe Fasset, Amy Butler, and Michael Miller. We have a large
selection of ethnic prints, along with 30's reproduction, Asian and
contemporary prints, batiks, and lots of fun novelties, including novelty flannels.

In fashion fabrics, Cottons Etc. offers a range of basics including twills,
denims and shirting's, sweatshirting, knits, challis, linen and stretch moleskins.
Fleece, chenille's, and jacquards along with special occasion fabrics and
trims round out our fashion fabric inventory. At times we offer fashion
fabrics from Ralph Lauren's Polo line, Liz Claiborne, and other fashion
design houses. Our pattern selection includes Kwik-Sew and New Look
(Simplicity's European line ), along with many independent pattern
companies-Rag Merchant, Lorraine Torrence, Gooseberry Hill, Details by Diane,
and Indygo Junction to name just a few. These companies offer both
quilting projects and garment choices, so there is something for everyone.
Our best selling quilt pattern currently is Happy Hollow Designs, "Crazy
Necktie Santa," a pattern that features old ties in Santa's cap, and also
has an accessory kit to save you time looking for all the " extras" to complete
this charming holiday wall hanging. I have just as hard a time keeping
my pattern inventory in line as I do my fabric inventory.
Notions, books and gifts round out our inventory mix and we promise to
help you find just the right "stuff" for yourself or for gift-giving.
Sew, stop by our quilt shop and fabric shop-via cyberspace, or if you're
close enough, stop by in person and let us help you find just the right
item for your creative pursuits, we're worth the trip.
Our very capable staff includes store manager JoAnn Chamberlin along
with Jean Nichols. Both ladies assist on the floor helping you pick just the
right choices for your next creative project and also are a part of
our teaching staff. Class displays, trunk shows, and various pattern samples
create an ongoing visual delight, and allow you to see how patterns look
when done!
My wearable art garments are also on display but can be packed and ready to
show in my trunk show titled "Jumpstart Your Creativity." Let us know if this
sounds like a program for your guild or organization and we'll gladly
arrange a date. We are a hotbed of creativity and our aim is to help you
stretch yourself, whether its quilts or wearable art that is your interest.
Of the same cloth, Paula Schultz
